Alzheimer’s Association Research Fellowships

New funding is now available from the Alzheimer’s (ALZ) Association. Letters of intent are due March 19, 2020.

Apply to GEMSSTAR

The Grants for Early Medical/Surgical Specialists’ Transition to Aging Research (GEMSSTAR) is an RO3 NIH grant to further research in geriatrics among medical and surgical specialties. It provides up to $75000/year for two years. Anesthesiologists have been quite successful over the years in getting these grants. It is designed for junior faculty. Successful applicants from anesthesiology should also apply for a Jahnigan award to learn more about geriatrics as it relates to perioperative care. For GEMSSTAR, the letter of intent deadline is September 23. 2017 and the application deadline is October 23, 2017 but start the process early.
