Robert A. Whittington, MD, Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Development, Mentorship and Recognition, and Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, has stepped down as Section Editor.

Lisbeth Anne Evered, BS, MBiostat, PhD, Scientific Head of Research in the Department of Anaesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine at St Vincent’s Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia; Associate Professor of Neuroscience in Anesthesiology, Weill Cornell Medicine, has succeeded him in this role. Dr. Evered’s primary research interest is untangling perioperative neurocognitive disorders (PND), particularly postoperative delirium (POD) and its progression to dementia. Her work includes developing biomarker and intervention strategies to reduce or prevent these adverse outcomes in older individuals. She has undoubtedly been one of the most influential researchers in this area.

We are fortunate to call both Robert A. Whittington and Lis Evered colleagues and members of SAGA.
